| It
was a dark cold night, the Norman knights where all a sleep. Little did
they know that whilst they where buried in their dreams they where being
watched by one of the few but threatening rough colonies. The rough
colonies swore to never serve the king they swore that they would seek
vengeance on the Norman’s that swore their loyalty to the king they
would not swear their loyalty to some one because they had a rich ancestor
or because they had stolen more land. But to really get the picture you have to go back twenty years, twenty years to when the problem first arose. It was a black cloud less night and Jackal was in the dungeon for refusing to give up his land to the king. Every night you could hear the screams of the broken hearts and souls from the dungeon doors. It was said that escape was imposable… But they where wrong, two people did it and when they did get out after burrowing under the castle walls and escaped they swore to fight the king, and every thing he stood for they swore to betray him, they swore to kill off those who stood in their way. ‘They ran away for a year and a day’ said a quotation in the dungeon masters diary. Now after the year and a day they returned to the castle in rags but not to swear loyalty to the king… to get their revenge! Although it first appeared that it was only two hundred men or so it was actually more like two hundred thousand men and they all had one purpose to seek out revenge on the king and put an end to his evil rain of terror. 'We have the castle surrounded, will we begin our attack?' asked Pier one of the many generals and Jackals most loyal friend. 'No, we must allow them to make the first move so as it is clear to the history books who it is that wins this war and when we win it will be told as a victory for the gods.' replied Jackal. And so the King attacked first. But he thought it was only an army of a mere two hundred men, he did not realize that that where one thousand times that hidden in the forests near by, he didn't realize that he was out numbered by ten thousand and fifty seven men he didn't know and that cost him his castle. Although Jackals army did not manage to kill the king in his escape they did manage to scare him and that was enough for now. Over the next twenty years Jackal picked off the kings troops one by one. But then we go back to what might just be his last attack on the king for you see Jackal had a wife when he escaped from the dungeon twenty years ago and she was know held captive by the king!! Jackal crept up alone now with the rest of his army dead from wore and old age for you see Jackal was know at the ripe old age of fifty. And the king was still only forty two years old. he crept up on the king tent in the middle of the camp site and climbed on to the top of the tent cut a hole and peaked through. He saw his wife tied to the center support beam in a beautiful body length green velvet robe. As for where the king was all he could see was this silhouette of a man with a lounge object and some sort of armor on. Jackal leaped up in the air slashed the rough the tent fell through the hole an d sent four of his many knives in the direction of the silhouette of the king. But they missed and ripped through the walls of the tent. |
