My Norman Story

It was the year 1500 and Celine was not a happy girl. She was eighteen and she wanted love, but it was nowhere to be seen. Celine was an only child, her father was a rich and very powerful man, she lived in a big old castle and she was never allowed out on her own. She was arranged to be married to a young man named Philipe, who Celine had met only once and never wanted to meet again.

One cold and foggy day Celine decided to go for a walk around the castle grounds for some fresh air. She put on her long and heavy cloak over her silk dress. She went down to look over the walls that surrounded the castle. It wasn’t a very nice day, so there wasn’t much action in the small town that she lived in. If only I could get into the town and meet some new people, she thought. Maybe I could, just for a while, but father would kill me, but he won’t know that I’m gone.

She jumped over the wall and walked down the road. There was a little shop called Harry's Fruit and Vegetables. Celine was hungry, this was the only decent food shop she could see. She went inside, there didn't seem to be anyone there. 'Hello', she called, 'Is there anyone there?' An old man came out, he was crouched over and looked very grumpy, 'What do you want?' he asked very rudely. 'Emm... I was wondering if I could have an apple please,' she said. 'There up there.' He pointed at a very old looking shelf which had an old rotting box on it. you could just see a little apple poking out. 'Your a young girl,' he said, 'Climb up there and get down an apple.' Celine was shocked, but she tried to climb up anyway. She was nearly all the way up when suddenly she lost her footing and was falling. Oh no, she thought, I'm going to fall and break my leg, but then, Just as she was about to hit the ground, someone caught her. She looked up into a pair of handsome hazel brown eyes. "Oh,' she said,' Thank you for catching me.' 'Any time,' said the handsome stranger. 'I'm Tomas,' he said, 'I'm Celine,' she said.

From then on Tomas and Celine were together all the time. Celine had some bad news that her father had died in battle. Celine's mother let her and Tomas get married. Celine new she had finally found love.
