my new favourite band is the new four-piece indie rock band from High Green, a suburb of
shefield. they are............the arctic monkeys!!!i think they are
amazing!!!!Their very first single, "i bet you look good on the
dancefloor", and the follow up "when the sun goes down", went straight to
number one in the uk singles chart. The band's debut album, "whatever
people say i am, thats what i'm not", holds the record for the largest
first week sales of a debut album in the UK. The band's northern rootshave seen them
nicknamed as a "northern libertines",
while their sound has
been compared to bands such as the jam, pulp and the streets. i find their
style very unique and very interesting!! i really like their music!!

Alex Turner
Alex turner is the band's lead vocalist and plays
the guitar. He first met drummer Matt Helders at barnsley college. i think
that he has a very unique voice that draws you into listening to the bands
album.
Jamie "Cookie" Cook
Jamie is the band's lead guitartist and also
does background vocals for the band.
Andy Nicholson
andy is another background vocalist. he also plays
bass guitar for the band.
Matthew "The Cat"
Helders
matthew is the bands drummer. he met alex at Barnsley
College. He also does some background vocals luke in the song "i bet you
lokk good on the dancefloor". i think he is a very talented drummer.
